Præsta nobis, quǽsumus, Dómine, sancti Ioánnis,
presbýteri, précibus adiuvári, ut vera fides, quam ille excellénter dócuit, sit
semper lux et fortitúdo nostra.
Grant to us, we beseech you, O Lord, to be aided
by the prayers of the holy priest John, that the true faith, which he excellently
taught, might ever be our light and strength.
Qui docti fúerint, fulgébunt quasi splendor
firmaménti et, qui ad iustítiam erúdiunt multos, quasi stellæ in perpétuas
æternitátes.
The learned will shine forth as the splendor of
the firmament and those who instruct many in righteousness as the stars for
ever.
