I happened to have noticed that Universalis had
goofed up these beautiful antiphons for the Nativity of Our Lady. It is easy to
do, as I know well. These are taken from the antiphons for Lauds and Vespers in
the older breviaries. I suppose that according to the LH the proper antiphon for each day hour would be used. But really all these antiphons should be used.
Antiphon: Natívitas est hódie Sanctæ Maríæ Vírginis, cuius vita ínclita cunctas illústrat Ecclésias.
This day is the nativity of the holy Virgin Mary, whose illustrious life enlightens all the churches.
Antiphon: Regáli ex progénie María exórta refúlget, cuius précibus nos adiuvári, mente et spíritu devotíssime póscimus.
Sprung from a royal race, Mary shines forth, the help of whose prayers we devoutly implore with heart and mind.
Antiphon: Corde et ánimo Christo canámus glóriam in hac sacra festivitáte præcélsæ Genetrícis Dei Maríæ.
With heart and soul on this solemnity let us sing to Christ the glory of Mary, the all-excelling Mother of God.
