The Collects of the Annunciation

Deus, qui Verbum tuum in útero Vírginis Maríæ veritátem carnis humánæ suscípere voluísti, concéde, quæsumus, ut, qui Redemptórem nostrum Deum et hóminem confitémur, ipsíus étiam divínæ natúræ mereámur esse consórtes.

O God, who willed that your Word should truly take human flesh in the womb of the Virgin Mary, grant, we beseech you, that we who confess our Redeemer to be God and man, may be worthy to share in his divine nature.

Deus, qui de beátæ Maríæ Vírginis útero Verbum tuum, Angelo nuntiánte, carnem suscípere voluísti: præsta supplícibus tuis; ut, qui vere eam Genetrícem Dei crédimus, ejus apud te intercessiónibus adjuvémur.

O God, who willed that your Word should take flesh from the womb of the blessed Virgin Mary at the message of an Angel: grant to those who pray to you: that, we who truly believe her to be the Mother of God, may be aided by her intercessions.

Angelus

Gratiam tuam, quaesumus, Domine, mentibus nostris infunde; ut qui, Angelo nuntiante, Christi Filii tui incarnationem cognovimus, per passionem eius et crucem ad resurrectionis gloriam perducamur.

Pour your grace, O Lord, into our hearts: that we who know the incarnation of Christ, your Son, by the message of an Angel, may be brought through his cross and passion into the glory of the resurrection.

In the 1962 Missal this collect is the postcommunion prayer for the Annunciation. Lauren Pristas says that of sixty codices in which the prayer appears, in 48 it is used on the feast of the Annunciation and in 36 of these as the postcommunion. The remaining 12 codices use the collects for Votive Masses of the Blessed Virgin.
